Blackpool Nightlife
AS the fourth largest town in the North West of England, Blackpool has been a major tourist hub in the region for many decades. Since the first half the 20th century, Blackpool has been especially popular with tourists from around the country and while it initially attracted visitors from neighbouring mill and factory towns it now enjoys a much broader spectrum of visitors to the numerous Blackpool pubs and clubs.
Blackpool Tourism
Blackpool remains the most popular British seaside resort, although its popularity has dropped somewhat in recent years. Despite this drop, it still has a very high concentration of pubs and clubs as well as a number of high profile tourist attractions including the beach, Blackpool Tower, and the Pleasure Beach. The Syndicate super club is one of the largest in the country holding up to 5,000 people. Blackpool really does offer something for everybody with the Tower Ballroom, Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks and cinemas, theatres, and live entertainment venues.
Blackpool Pubs And Clubs
Blackpool bars have proven especially popular as stag and hen night venues as well as proving the ideal location for weekend trippers. It is also popular with locals from the surrounding area because of its late night drinking (many of the clubs like Sanuk and the Syndicate are open until 5am) as well as the unique combination of pubs, clubs, and bars that are available. Many other entertainment venues also exist offering diverse forms of entertainment. Well known comedy acts, live bands, and cabaret acts can all be found throughout Blackpool and the surrounding area.
Blackpool Attractions
As well as bars, Blackpool is well known for its many varied tourist attractions. Blackpool zoo houses more than 1,500 animals from every continent. Three piers are located along the Golden Mile, which is home to some of the country’s largest and most colourful amusement arcades, swimming park, and casinos. The promenade is also home to Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks while the town centre, which is just adjacent to the promenade offers a varied collection of shops and retail outlets as well as Blackpool bars and clubs. Plus, of course, there’s the Blackpool Illuminations that run from August to November.
The Surrounding Area
While Blackpool town centre is filled with bars and clubs, outlying areas like Fleetwood, Cleveleys and further afield in Lytham St Annes there is a great collection of pubs and bars. These are generally quieter than Blackpool bars and offer a slightly slower pace – ideal if you’re looking for somewhere to eat or you don’t fancy the colourful and lively nightlife on offer in Blackpool.
