Swansea Nightlife
Swansea is the second largest and second most populous city in Wales after Cardiff and offers sea front views, beaches, and an historic coastline. Anybody looking for and active and friendly nightlife will be well placed in Swansea city centre with a fine assortment of pubs especially located on Wind Street and clubs and bars found in the area known as Kingsbury. Popular as a water sport and outdoor activity spot, you can enjoy being active during the day and during the night.
Wind Street
Wind Street, pronounced Wine Street, doesn’t just feature a large selection of pubs as this is the area of Swansea that also houses many of the city’s restaurants, cafes, and other places to eat. Swansea pubs here do offer a good mix of traditional pubs with some more modern bars so you can either enjoy a lively night drinking lager or find a more traditional and relaxed environment and some fine real ale.
Kingsbury
Once the pubs close, many visitors and locals find their way to Kingsbury because this is where the majority of Swansea clubs are located. Especially busy during the weekend, Kingsbury features popular clubs like Oceana and there’s a wide variety of different music genres and atmospheres to choose from.
Activities
Swansea has proven especially popular for water sports and outdoor activities. Water skiing, sailing, and surfing are popular at Swansea Bay while the beaches at Langland, Caswell, and Limeslade are more popular with families; especially those with children. Other popular outdoor activities in the region include hiking, cycling, and golf.
Landmarks
As well as a selection of beaches that boast incredible views, family friendly bathing, and excellent activity opportunities Swansea plays host to a number of other visitor attractions and major landmarks. The National Waterfront Museum, Swansea Museum, and The Dylan Thomas Centre offer unique and unusual experiences for the visitor while Clyne Gardens and Singleton Park provide tranquil settings for family visits.
Swansea Pubs And Clubs
Swansea pubs and clubs offer a similarly diverse offering with old, traditional pubs mixing with modern, contemporary bars and nightclubs. Wind Street has many of the big name chains including Wetherspoons and a Walkabout while clubs like Oceana are found in the Kingsway region. The Mumbles Mile, which was once renowned as being one of the best pub crawl locations in the UK, features fewer pubs now but is still home to some very good local pubs. There are also two casinos in Swansea so you can enjoy a flutter during your stay too.
