Pubs or clubs?

For clubs, try the area around Wood Street/Slater Street/Seel Street. There's also a couple of places on Hardman Street.

For Pubs, the Pilgrim is definitely the best. Very cheap and friendly. It gets packed easily though, so get there early.

If you mean pubs, start of at the Ship and Mitre at the bottom of the fly over in Dale Street and work your way to the Town Hall, loads of pubs on or just off Dale St then finish the night off in Mathew St
